Addiction comes in many different forms. The most common, or at least the most commonly discussed forms of addiction are the addiction to drugs and alcohol, but other forms of addiction exist and can include gambling, sex, spending and food. According to a recent survey conducted by the Survey, Faces and Voices of Recovery Public Campaign, nearly 66% of American families have been touched by addiction of either drugs or alcohol. If you take into account other forms of addiction, the number of people affected by addiction, increases to almost 100%. The goal of this life skill is to show how addiction affects everyone in some way, to help recognize addiction, to help someone endure/survive addiction (as an addicted person or someone who loves an addicted person), to research treatment options and to find possible consequences (physical, emotional, mental, familial, judicial - both in the moment and lasting effects)
