OBESITY (H ) (T)
Obesity is one of the fastest growing health concerns for Americans. The statistical data put out by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) shows that the percentage of the American population that is considered obese has grown from 15% to 25% (approximately) in the past decade. Given that this epidemic will affect you or someone you know you will research the topic of obesity and using a five-paragraph essay format, report your findings in a well-organized research paper (with a minimum of 2 ½ pages). In order to help you write this paper you should consider the following questions:
• What does it mean to be obese?
• What are the factors that lead to obesity?
• How can obesity be prevented?
• How is obesity measured?
Obesity can also be the primary cause of many other diseases such as heart problems, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
• Choose one of the other health diseases related to obesity and discuss how this disease is related to obesity and how it can be prevented
Lastly, applying the knowledge you have learned through your research, evaluate your present lifestyle and determine how you could effectively make positive improvements.
