South Coastal Adult Learning Attendance Policy
All students are expected to attend classes from 6:00-9:00 pm on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Spaces in classes are limited; for this reason, students will be dropped from the program once they have missed two class periods in a cycle. This allows Waitlisted students the opportunity to attend.
The only way a class will be considered excused is for the following reason:
1) Medically necessary and a doctor's note has been given to your counselor or
Students are encouraged to work on Study Island. Three hours of work on Study Island is equal to one night of attendance.
Note: It is important for students to understand that Study Island is an electronic program that can be used to supplement instructional work; however, it is not intended to replace teacher to student instruction.
What to do if you will be absent:
If a student will be absent they should email their counselor. In the email state the reason for the absence and who your teacher is.
Example: Mrs. Flanagan,
I will be absent from class tonight. I am having car trouble. I will do three hours of work on Study Island to keep learning. My teacher is Mr. Liquori.

Todos os alunos deverão frequentar as aulas a partir de 6: 00 pm -9:00pm em ambas as terças e quinta-feira à noite. Espaço nas clases é limitado;, por este motivo, o aluno será excluído do programa depois de terem perdido dois períodos de aula em um ciclo. Isto permite que alunos na Lista de Espera tenham a oportunidade de participar.
A única forma de uma classe faltada ser desculpada será pelos seguintes motivos:
1. Medicamente necessário e um atestado médico tenha sido dado a seu conselheiro.
2. Estudandes são incentivados a utilizar o Study Island. Tres horas de estudo no Study Island é equivalente a uma noite de aula presente.
Advertência: É importante que os estudantes a entendam que o Study Island é um programa eletrônico que pode ser usado para complementar o trabalho de instrução, no entanto, não se destina a substituir a instrução de professor para aluno.
O que fazer se você estiver ausente:
Se um aluno estará ausente devem enviar um e-mail a seu conselheiro. No e-mail deve citar o motivo da sua ausência e quem é seu professor.
Exemplo: Ms. Watanabe
Estarei ausente da aula hoje à noite. Estou tendo problemas com o carro. Favei Tres horas no Study Island para continuar Meu aprendizado. Meu professor é o Mr. Liquori.
